Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
This policy covers the Wallpaper Reactor apps for Android, Windows, macOS and Linux, the web app at web.wallpaperreactor.app, its command-line tool, and this website.
The short version
- You can browse and apply wallpapers without an account. Without one, we don’t know who you are.
- With an account, we keep your email address and the profile and wallpapers you choose to share.
- The app has no ads, no advertising ID, no analytics and no crash reporting. The web app counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies (section 12). We don’t sell your data or use it to track you.
- The app’s logs stay on your device unless you export them and send them to us yourself, or tick “Attach logs” when you send feedback.
- You can ask us to delete your account at any time (see section 10).
1. Using the app without an account
You can browse the catalogue and download, apply and customise wallpapers without signing in. We don’t collect personal information in this mode. Like any internet service, our servers and the providers in section 8 see your IP address and basic request details when the app fetches the catalogue or a wallpaper.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google, Apple or Discord; there are no passwords. The provider gives us your email address, and usually your name, profile picture and account ID with that provider, which our sign-in service stores with your account. We don’t show them on your profile. Each provider handles the sign-in under its own privacy policy.
Your email address is private. We use it to run your account and to answer you. We send you occasional emails about new features, updates and promotions only if you opt in, and you can turn that off at any time in your profile.
Staying signed in. Your sign-in session is kept on your device, in your operating system’s credential store (Keychain on macOS, Credential Manager on Windows, Secret Service on Linux) or, where there isn’t one (such as Android), in a file in the app’s private storage that only the app can read. It is only ever sent to our sign-in service. In the web app, the session is kept in your browser’s storage for web.wallpaperreactor.app.
3. Your public profile
Every account has a profile that anyone can see, including people without an account. It shows:
- your display name (a generated username until you change it),
- your avatar image link and bio, if you add them,
- the platforms you use Wallpaper Reactor on,
- your account type (for example Free or Pro),
- when you joined, and the public wallpapers you’ve uploaded.
Your profile never shows your email address.
4. Wallpapers you upload
When you upload a wallpaper, we store its files, preview image and details (title, description, author, source link, licence, tags and options). For a Godot wallpaper we also keep its project source, which only our moderators can see.
- Review. Uploaded files are scanned automatically for risky behaviour, and a person reviews a wallpaper before it’s published. A Scene’s scan report is made on your device and uploaded with it.
- Public wallpapers are shown to everyone, with your display name as the creator. Private wallpapers are visible only to you, and to our moderators where needed.
- Creator Agreement. Every upload is made under our Creator Agreement. With each upload we record which version of the agreement you accepted, when, for which wallpaper, and whether you used the app or the command-line tool.
- AI descriptions (optional). If you press the button to generate a description, the wallpaper’s preview image and title are sent to OpenAI, which writes a suggested description. Nothing is sent unless you press it.
5. Favourites and statistics
If you’re signed in, we store the wallpapers you favourite, so they follow you to your other devices. We count how many times each wallpaper is applied and favourited; these counts are shown in the catalogue and are not linked to you. Searches are sent to our servers to find matching wallpapers and are not stored with your account.
6. Purchases
Where the app offers Wallpaper Reactor Pro, purchases are handled by RevenueCat and its payment processor; we never see your card details. RevenueCat tells us whether your account has Pro, and we store that with your account (it appears on your public profile, see section 3). The Microsoft Store and Mac App Store versions don’t sell anything.
7. Feedback, logs and diagnostics
- Feedback you send from the app contains your message and, only if you tick “Include device information”, your platform, operating system version, app version and language. Feedback is not linked to your account.
- Logs. The app writes logs on your device, to help troubleshoot problems. They are never uploaded automatically. If you export them from Settings, you decide whether and where to send the file.
- Attaching logs to feedback (optional). The feedback form has a separate box, “Attach logs”, off by default. If you tick it, the form says what it will send: the app’s own logs, the wallpaper helper’s logs and, on Android, the wallpaper engine’s logs (up to 2 MB each). Logs can contain file paths and wallpaper IDs. Before they leave your device, the app replaces your home folder’s path with
~and removes email addresses, but it cannot promise to catch everything, so don’t tick the box if you’d rather not share them. The logs are sent as one file, stored privately, and only our developers can read them. Like your feedback message, they are not linked to your account, even if you are signed in. We use them only to work out what went wrong. - No analytics or crash reporting. The installed apps, from Wallpaper Reactor 0.29, send no crash reports or usage analytics. The web app counts visits as described in section 12. Earlier versions sent us a crash report when the app crashed, with your account’s email and ID (if you were signed in), your operating system details, the app version and the app’s log.
8. Who processes your data for us
We don’t sell your personal information or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We use these service providers to run Wallpaper Reactor, and they process data only on our behalf:
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Our database, sign-in, file storage and server functions, hosted in the United States |
| Cloudflare | Storage (R2) and delivery of wallpaper files and previews; hosting the web app, and counting its visits (Cloudflare Web Analytics) |
| RevenueCat and its payment processor | Pro subscriptions |
| OpenAI | Suggested wallpaper descriptions, only when you ask for one |
| Google, Apple, Discord | Sign-in, with the provider you choose |
| GitHub | App downloads, and the update check in copies downloaded from our website |
| Google Analytics | Visitor statistics for this website (not the app) |
9. Connections the app makes on its own
- The catalogue and wallpaper files, from our servers and the providers above.
- Update checks. Copies downloaded from our website check GitHub for a new version. Store copies are updated by their store and don’t check.
- Link checks. When you type a source link for a wallpaper, the app checks that the link works.
- Wallpapers that use the internet. Some wallpapers, such as web-page wallpapers and Scenes, load content like fonts, scripts, images or live data from other websites while they run. Those websites see your IP address and the request, just as when you visit them in a browser, and their own privacy policies apply. Our reviewers see which websites a wallpaper connects to before it’s published.
10. Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your account data while your account exists.
To delete your account, use Delete Account on your account page in the app, which deletes it straight away, or email us as described on our Account Deletion page. Deleting your account deletes your sign-in, email address, profile, favourites, Creator Agreement records and all of your wallpapers, as described in the Creator Agreement. Copies of public wallpapers that other people already downloaded stay on their devices. Backups roll off on their normal schedule, and we may keep a limited record where we need it for safety, fraud prevention, a legal claim or a moderation decision.
Without deleting your account, you can delete or unpublish any of your wallpapers, remove favourites, and change or clear your profile at any time.
On your device, the app keeps your settings, downloaded wallpapers, logs and sign-in session. Signing out removes the session. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage in your device’s settings, removes the rest. In the web app, your settings, favourites and sign-in session are kept in your browser’s storage for web.wallpaperreactor.app; clearing that site’s data in your browser removes them.
11. Permissions
- Android: internet access. The app doesn’t ask for your location, contacts, camera, microphone or photo library. When you make a wallpaper from a photo, you pick the file, and it stays on your device unless you upload it. Android may also list permissions that the system’s Google sign-in uses.
- macOS: the App Store version runs in Apple’s sandbox, with network access, access only to files you choose, and Sign in with Apple.
- Windows: the Microsoft Store version runs with full trust and a startup task, so it can draw the wallpaper behind your desktop icons and bring it back when you sign in. You can turn the startup task off in Windows Settings.
12. This website and the web app
The web app at web.wallpaperreactor.app uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are opened and how fast they load. It uses no cookies and doesn’t identify or follow you between websites; Cloudflare reports only totals, such as page views, the referring website, country, browser and loading times. The installed apps don’t include it.
This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, browser and the pages you visit. You can block it in your browser’s settings or with a content blocker. The website has no accounts.
13. Children’s privacy
Wallpaper Reactor is not intended for children under the age of 13. We don’t ask your age, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
14. Your choices
- See and change your profile in the app at any time.
- Turn marketing emails on or off in your profile.
- Delete wallpapers, favourites or your whole account (section 10).
- Disconnect Wallpaper Reactor from your Google, Apple or Discord account in that provider’s settings.
- Contact us with questions about your data.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a revised Last updated date. Please review it periodically.
